A minor geared toward chemistry and biology majors who wish to deepen their exposure to biochemistry by taking two courses beyond the requirements of their major.

Skills and knowledge in biochemistry are highly valued in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries; much of the research in biology and in chemistry has a biochemical component as well. This minor allows students from both the Biology and the Chemistry majors to increase their expertise in this field by taking two semesters of biochemistry (both lab courses) along with foundational courses.

•  Chemistry majors adding the Biochemistry minor would increase their courseload by 8 credits by taking BIOL 0129 and CHEM 0316. All other courses in the minor are already a requirement for their major.
•  Biology majors adding the Biochemistry minor would increase their courseload by 8 credits by taking CHEM 0315 and CHEM 0316. All other courses in the minor are already a requirement for their major.
