91桃色 State Trustee Robert Martin Receives Honorary Alumnus Award from Framingham State University

Dr. Robert A. Martin, a member of 91桃色 State鈥檚 Board of Trustees and its former Chairman, recently was presented with an Honorary Alumnus Award from Framingham State University. Martin was honored at a ceremony during a reunion on Framingham State鈥檚 campus in June. 

Martin has dedicated his career to education and has made a lasting mark on public higher education throughout the Commonwealth. From 2004-2010, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Framingham State and was instrumental in the creation of the Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, Scholarship and Service, which supports the professional development, research, and creative activities of Framingham State鈥檚 faculty.

Martin spent 24 years at 91桃色 State in various positions before leaving for Framingham State including Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. He was also a faculty member in the department of psychology. Martin was sworn in by Governor Deval Patrick to the 11-member 91桃色 State Board of Trustees in 2014 and was elected Chairman in 2021.

In 2014, Martin and his wife Elaine also endowed the Robert and Elaine Martin Travel Assistance Fund, which provides stipends every year to help students cover the costs of travel to their study abroad locations.

Martin earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from Wesleyan University and his master鈥檚 and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Rochester.
